GoPro going all in with their new and amazing series of adventure camera. I have used my Hero2 in the past year and it really gives new possibilities for cool footage. Whether it is in the mountains, ski, bike or when you want to get close - in your attempt to capture the perfect atmosphere.

Check out the link - one of the best and cheapest places to buy the new Hero3 and a lot of cool accessories

Tibet is finally open for expeditions.

After a few difficult seasons and a lot of Chinese talk - it now seems to be possible to plan new expeditions.
Of course I am one of them !..... I'm working right now to find the best setup for my next 8000m climb. It could well be in Tibet. Amazing landscapes and cultural atmosphere - a country that still offers glimpse of a once great nation.
Here are some impressions from my last visit in 2010

Pakistan by winter!

Winter is started in Pakistan and the same has expeditions to Nanga Parbat and Broad Peak. The game to do the first ascent in winter has begun.
The Polish team has finally been established and it seems once again to be a strong one. On Nanga Parbat this year, it is the Hungarians who want to make an effort.
For all of you - take care and be safe

Happy New year

Happy New year.
2012 is history and a new year is started. For me 2012 was not the best year ever! Well.. I guess that sometime you have to look back and just accept and get the best out of it. ;)
2012 was one again filled with a lot of trips and adventure – High Mountains and traveling to desolate destinations. I try to climb Lhotse in a small two man team, but in the ended up with only a summit attempt. On Papua I was guiding a group up Carstensz but we had some problems whit the local contact and especially the combative tribes in the area. That meant that we did not get to Base Camp and therefore not climbed the mountain!!! In Nepal this fall I was ones again guiding on Island Peak - Great group and strong clients. Everything looks to be perfect and the summit was only one day away.  On the way to my tent in BC I made a twist of the foot and broke a few bones!! How the hell is it possible???
This means that I am out of the game for a few months and my long-planned trips to Aconcagua is canceled. I should have guided two groups in 2013 (my 7. and 8. ascent of Aconcagua with client) and made another ascent via an unknown route with my partner.  All this is then up for next year - I have already been booked for Aconcagua 2014
Ok. Not everything is bad, of course, and I had many good trips and ascents which went smoothly J Clients on Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua and trekking in France and Nepal
2013 is ongoing and I have many projects going on already. At the beginning of February I probably fly back to Tanzania to guide the Kilimanjaro and on some amazing safari. Then is it back to Nepal for guiding on Island Peak and/or a trip to Everest Base Camp. Concerning 8000m climbing and other private ascents - I have been invited on an expedition in Nepal and one in Pakistan. Very exciting stuff but nothing is yet set.  J

I'll see you out there…
